Press Release - 02 January
BBEG write again to David O'Connor, Acting Monitoring Officer, LCC
Mr David O’Connor
Acting Monitoring Officer
Lincolnshire County Council
02 January 2007
Our group wrote to you on 3 November 2006 - you have failed to reply.
We are now in receipt of the LCC Executive Decision Report Reference 6.0 concerning the Transport Strategy for Boston, due to be made on 9 January 2007. This includes a comment from yourself that 'this decision is therefore lawful and within the remit of the Executive'.
We would disagree and as a matter of urgency, request that the independent auditors and inspectors who are supposed to be monitoring the decisions made by Officers and the Executive Group of LCC call a halt to these proceedings with immediate effect.
The same report states that a public consultation exercise was carried out in the summer of 2006. The fact that LCC have ignored the overwhelming support for a bypass for Boston and even have seen Cllr William Webb write to thank the public for their valuable contribution to this exercise, demonstrates the extent of the manipulation and control that your Council is prepared to go to in order that you can push through your own agenda.
We live in a democratic society and therefore wish to bring such control to a halt, once and for all.
The public of Boston and of Lincolnshire have had enough.
We put to you that your decisions are not those reflected by the public who elected Councillors to represent them.
