Press Release - 14 December 2006

BBEG reply to the Government Office for the East Midlands

Dear Mr Marshall

Thank you for your letter of 11 December 2006. (Click here to read the letter)

We have noted carefully that since 1993 to 1998 - 5 years - Lincolnshire County Council did nothing to progress a 'full bypass' for Boston, as in their view, it would 'substantially weaken the case'. We fully intend to pursue the issue directly with Lincolnshire County Council.

We would therefore ask if an economic assessment was done to substantiate this claim? Was any such documentation produced to your department at that time? If not, who came to that decision? If so, we'd like to see a copy of it please.

We have just announced a Public Meeting in January 2006 - see our website www.bbeg.org.uk for details - and intend to propose a motion at this Public Meeting to hold a Town Referendum.

We look forward to receiving your response to this email.

Kind regards.

Yours sincerely
