Press Release - 19 September 2007
BBEG request information under the Freedom of Information Act: Council Tax
To: Amy Hall/Helen Gill
Information Compliance Officers
Lincolnshire County Council/Boston Borough Council
I would like to submit a new request for information please, under the Freedom of Information Act.
As a Council Tax payer of Boston, my Council Tax is divided up as follows:
Lincolnshire County Council: 76.59%
Lincolnshire Police Authority: 10.21%
Boston Borough Council: 12.55%
Parish Precept: 0.65%
Therefore over three quarters of my Council Tax goes to Lincolnshire County Council.
I would like to know the total annual figure in UK Pounds Sterling for last year that Boston citizens paid in Council Tax to Lincolnshire County Council please - ie. presumably 76.59% of the total Council Tax funds received?
I would then like to know please the total annual figure in UK Pounds Sterling for last year that Boston Borough Council received from Lincolnshire County Council, compared to Lincoln and Grantham local councils, together with the percentage comparison of amounts received and amounts spent appropriately.
As roads are the responsibility of Lincolnshire County Council, for example, how does expenditure on roads compare between Lincoln, Grantham and Boston as percentages of Council Tax received for these three areas.
I look forward to receiving your reply.
