Press Release - 31 July 2006

Michael Borrill wrote to Martin Hill on 24 July 2006 - Cllr Hill's response is still awaited

24 July 2006

Cllr Martin Hill
Lincolnshire County council
County Offices

Dear Cllr Hill

Having seen how well the Joint Advisory Committee (JAC) for the Lincoln Area performs, we are writing to ask if one has been set up for the Boston Area and if not, asking if you could consider setting one up on the same basis as the Lincoln Area.

We feel that a JAC for the Boston Area would be beneficial and bring together all concerned to bring an end to the isolation the area now has. This committee would also hopefully bring an end to situations like the proposed development of the West Street area in Boston, a very large proposal, which envisages the removal of such buildings as the Police Station and other recently built structures to make way for the Campus of the Boston College to be moved from Skirbeck Road.

As you are well aware, the recent Public Consultation was held on the Transport Study for Boston and we were surprised that the Project Manager had not been consulted on this proposed development which would have a major impact on the Transport problems in Boston.

We thank you for your time and look forward to hearing from you.

Yours sincerely

Michael Borrill
