Railway Crossing at Boston Railway Station - Friday 23 March 2007

Video evidence of the bottleneck caused by the railway crossing in Boston
Shows the hazards of having a mini-roundabout one side, and a set of traffic lights the other, so close to the railway crossing. Is there room to widen this crossing? Is it safe to widen this crossing? Boston should have a major road scheme around the town with access points to the centre of town - if you agree, please sign our Petition. The Office of Rail Regulation stated to us yesterday (22 March 2007) that, "It is important to stress that Network Rail has not agreed to any scheme here." The BBEG would state that on the grounds of Health & Safety alone, the proposed road widening scheme of Liquorpond Street, and particularly at this level crossing, that is being suggested by Officers at Lincolnshire County Council, should be rejected. We don't want funds to be wasted on basically an extension of John Adams Way!
